A living museum

In summer the Open-Air Museum fills up with activities

Hosts in traditional costumes welcome you and tell about earlier life and culture in Norway. Farmsteads and historic houses are filled with exhibits, activites, folk music and folk dance. Farm animals graze the fields.

Daily activities in summer

  • 10.00 – 18.00 The Museum is open.

    Exhibitions, houses in the Open-Air Museum and the Museum Shop are open. Meet our hosts in regional costumes and experience activities in the Open-Air Museum

  • 10.30 – 18.00 Cafe Arkadia is open

    The Café at the Square is open 10:30 - 17:00

  • 10.30 – 16.30 Folk Dancing and folk music

    Performance every hour at 10:30, 11:30... Last performance at 16:30.

  • 11.00 – 17.00 Baking of Lefse

  • 11.00 – 17.00 The Artisans

    Closed Mondays
