Guided Tour: Norwegian Christmas Traditions

How was Christmas celebrated in Norway in earlier times? What did people eat? Did they have Christmas trees? What about gifts and decorations?

We invite you to join us on a guided tour through the Open-Air Museum to visit different homes – from the poorest working class quarters of Oslo to the upper classes on the best side of town. In the countryside we visit a large farmer families. Some traditions and customs are probably familiar, others might appear strange to the modern eye!

The tour is free of charge with a valid entrance ticket.​​
There are no guided tours on December 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 24th. and 25th.
