FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
- Is everything included in the ticket?
Yes, everything in the daily program is included in the entrance fee. You can participate in storytelling sessions and guided tours at no extra cost or need for pre-booking. - Can we bring our own food or buy food at the museum?
Both! There are many lovely spots throughout the open-air museum where you can enjoy your own picnic. Tables and benches are available near the Festplassen (Festival Grounds) and the playground. If you prefer to buy food, Café Arkadia serves pastries, sandwiches, and salads. Additionally, at the Eldhus in Numedal, you can buy freshly baked "lefse" directly from the griddle every Saturday and Sunday. Note: Grilling and open fires are strictly prohibited due to fire hazards. - How do we get to the museum?
We recommend using public transport. Take Bus 30 directly to our door, or enjoy the trip with the Bygdøy Ferry from City Hall Pier (Rådhusbrygga) to Dronningen. - Can we bring dogs?
Dogs are very welcome in the open-air museum as long as they are kept on a leash. Out of consideration for our historical artifacts, dogs are not permitted inside the buildings or exhibitions.
