Frequently Asked Questions
- Is everything included in the ticket?
Yes, everything in the daily program is included in the admission ticket. You can join Storytime and guided tours at no extra cost and without booking in advance. Children aged 0-17 have free admission. - Can we bring our own food or buy food at the museum?
Both! There are many nice spots in the Open-Air Museum where you can eat your own packed food. If you wish to buy food, Kafé Arkadia serves pastries, sandwiches, and salads. In the cookhouse (Eldhuset) in Numedal, you can also buy freshly baked lefse straight from the griddle every Saturday and Sunday. - How do we get to the museum?
We recommend taking public transport. Take bus 30 directly to the entrance, or enjoy the ride on the Bygdøy Ferry from the City Hall Pier (Rådhusbrygga) to Dronningen. - Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are very welcome in the open-air museum as long as they are kept on a leash. Out of consideration for the historical artifacts, dogs are not allowed inside the buildings or exhibitions.
