Offers every day

  • Experience two of our biggest attractions with our costumed guides
  • The tour is in Norwegian and English, every day at 12.00 and 14.00
  • Meeting at Torget

Here you can go for walks in beautiful winter surroundings, among houses and yards from north to south in Norway, from the Middle Ages until today. On the way, you can meet animals and farmers at work.

  • Discover the treasures inside our many exhibitions!
  • The Easter exhibition opens on 12 April and is open until 21 April.

Around the museum you will find the opportunity for exploration, both inside and outside!

  • Outdoor play? Our beautiful playground with an obstacle course is great also in winter! In Trøndelag there is a real Gråass tractor that is very popular! At the Sami settlement you can throw a lasso, and right nearby is our beautiful playground with obstacle loop.
  • When the snow disappears, stilts, skipping ropes and barrel stalls come out in Karterud, Kantentorget and Trøndelagstunet.
  • Time to be inside? In the Toy Exhibition you can relax with drawing and toy cars, in the Exhibition Hall there is a play and reading corner, and in the Museum Loft there is detective play.

Here you will meet our friendly staff who will welcome you with useful information, ticket sales, and anything else you may have about your visit.
Our tempting museum shop sells Norwegian and Nordic handicraft products, utility items and design. The product range follows the seasons, major anniversaries and the museum's program. Take a look and maybe you'll find a treasure to take home with you!

Treat yourself to a pleasant break in the museum visit. Café Arkadia serves food and drink for every need and desire, hot and cold, in front of a burning fireplace.
